The Rietveld Schröder House is a piece of world heritage in Utrecht. Virtually everything is still in its original state. We work hard to keep it that way. For this reason, you can only visit the house as part of an organised tour.

The tour

By showing your ticket and discount card (if you have one), you will receive the a media player. The media players are disinfected before and after each time they are used. A headset is not required since the players have an on-board loudspeaker. However, you can connect your own headset if you prefer to use one. Your headset must have a standard mini-jack to connect.

Do you prefer to use your own device? No problem. The tour is also available online. Upon arrival, simply scan the qr code and you are ready to go. Don't forget to bring your headphones.

Let the multi-media tour guide you through the house. On the ground floor you may visit the rooms on your own, following the route signs where applicable.

Upstairs, you'll be accompanied by a guide who will point out all the clever solutions Rietveld incorporated in the house, such as moving walls and an unusual corner window.

Practical information

A tour of the Rietveld Schröder House takes 30 to 40 minutes. Multi-media tours are available in Dutch, English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Mandarin.
